The Good Shepherd Maria Montessori AMI Training Centre, Sri Lanka is the only AMI-affiliated Montessori teacher training centre in the country, offering internationally recognised training based on the authentic philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori.

Affiliated to the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI), Amsterdam, Netherlands—the global governing body founded by Dr. Montessori in 1929—the Centre upholds the highest standards of Montessori education and teacher preparation.

Our two-year AMI Montessori training programme provides in-depth study of the Montessori method, with a strong focus on Practical Life, Sensorial, Mathematics, and Language, combining theory, observation, and supervised teaching practice. The programme is conducted in English and Sinhala and prepares trainees for employment in AMI schools in Sri Lanka and internationally.

Located at St. Bridget’s Convent, Colombo 7, the Centre welcomes committed individuals above 18 years who aspire to become professional Montessori educators grounded in authenticity, care, and excellence.
